About the role:_
I am looking for a resilient & committed SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about providing a high standard of education to those children who have additional needs.
This is a full time role working Mon - Friday to keep consistency in staff for the children, allowing them to build trust with you.
You will be responsible for providing support and assistance to the child, ensuring that they are able to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
You will be helping the children engage in activities, reading with them & managing their behaviour in a group setting & 1:1.
You will need to be a TA who can remain calm in stressful situations and can positively manage challenging behaviour.
You will be expected to de- escalate any difficult situations with the children.
You will have access to sensory rooms & resources to use as tools to provide support to the children. You will be able to remove them from uncomfortable situations & take them to a safe space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 support to a child with learning difficulties
- Working closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver appropriate learning activities
- Monitoring the child's progress and providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO
- Implementing strategies to support the child's social and emotional wellbeing
- Encouraging independence and fostering positive relationships with peers
What the School is looking for:
The Head Teacher is looking for a positive, open-minded and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant. They would like someone who is passionate about making sure all children have access to an excellent education. If you are Team Teach trained this would be preferred, but not essential.
This is a happy & vibrant busy school despite the large size, belonging & empathy is at the heart of it.
You will need to be someone who is willing to go above & beyond towards the children's learning journey.- Team Teach preferred (not essential)

- Relevant experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with learning difficulties
- Good knowledge of SEND legislation, policies and procedures
