WHAT TO EXPECT
The Facility & Technology Development department is tasked with designing and implementing facility components, test rigs, and the necessary infrastructure to support physical test plans. Additionally, the team is accountable for spearheading the development and execution of pivotal new facilities, technologies, infrastructure, and strategies for JLR's testing teams, overseeing projects from inception to completion.

As the Technical Manager, you will lead a team of highly skilled engineers dedicated to integrating intricate prototype systems into the physical test environment. Your role will involve defining requirements and overseeing the successful off-rig and on-rig commissioning processes. Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams, program management, and engineering operations management is essential for reaching your objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Team Leadership and Management: Guide and oversee a diverse, multifaceted team, assigning tasks for optimal performance.
- Technical Expertise and Mentorship: Drive collaboration across different departments to ensure adherence to technical standards and requirements.
- Quality Management and Process Enhancement: Implement top practices and standard procedures to streamline operations and boost productivity.
- Project Management and Execution: Serve as the focal point for all B&TO System Rig Designs.
- Stakeholder Relations and Cooperation: Establish and nurture strong partnerships with key stakeholders throughout the organization.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in developing timing schedules, managing workloads, and overseeing team projects to successful outcomes.
- Experience with rapid prototyping control systems such as HiL (dSPACE, NI, etc).
- Familiarity with safety systems and PLC (Pilz, Siemens, Wieland, Bender).
- Capability to interpret and implement electrical system diagrams (Visio, ePlan).
- Knowledge of vehicle and test system communication protocols like Flexray, CAN, LIN, EtherCAT.
