An exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Agent required to work in the Mid and North Wales region to plan and deliver schemes within our existing frameworks and committed projects as well as for the next Control Period for our client, Network Rail.

Business Unit


Amco-Giffen are a principle contractor on both infrastructure projects, renewal and enhancement as well as planned preventative maintenance and reactive aintenance frameworks in North/Mid-Wales for Network Rail and a framework Contractor with Transport For Wales.


A busy and fast paced business unit involved in a range of civil engineering works in a variety of sectors to include rail (bridges, embankments, stations, platforms, tunnels etc.), Environment Agency, Local Authority etc.

The business unit are involved in multi-disciplinary civils projects across the Wales region, whether one off tendered projects or projects within our long term framework / contract agreements with key clients.


Existing contracts include CP6 infrastructure projects, minor works and Environment Agency frameworks with works typically including bridge re-construction/replacement, upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms, access for all etc.), structures including bridges, tunnels and footbridges.


The Role


Initially we have a requirement for a Site Agent to assist in the planning and delivery of an Access for All scheme in mid-Wales.


As Site Agent you will report to a Project Manager and will be directly responsible for the daily management of various rail and civil engineering projects within our portfolio work in the North and Mid-Wales Wales region.


Day to day responsibilities would include:

  • Ensuring that the contract is executed in accordance with the requirements of:
  • All applicable legislation
  • The Terms and Conditions of the Contract
  • The Contract Health and Safety Plan
  • The Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets
  • The Contract Quality / Environmental Plan
  • Delivery of the contract within programme and budget.
  • Liaison with site staff and managing surveyor to ensure tender allowances are not exceeded.
  • The continuous monitoring of contract progress to ensure contract objectives are being met.
  • Ensuring that in conjunction with the site team changes to the contract are identified, agreed and effectively managed.
  • The provision of formal reports on contract progress to the Project and Contracts Managers.

Requirements:


To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Site Agent or Site Manager in a civil engineering environment.


  • SMSTS
  • Degree / HNC or HND in civil engineering (or equivalent compensating experience in a technical engineering role)
  • Knowledge of civils, structures and general multidisciplinary Engineering in a Rail Environment would be a great asset.
