Polytec are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Supplier Quality Engineer to take the lead on supplier quality development for our client based just north of Cambridge. Regular travel will be required for this role, you will need to have a full, clean driving licence and be confident travelling independently. Responsibilities: * Develop, establish and maintain process controls and quality measures for Supplier Quality
* Define quality requirements on the supply chain
* Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to achieve high levels of performance
* Report on supplier quality performance, highlighting changes and recommending opportunities for improvement
* Quality Control inspections and quality approval of product and component releases to manufacture
* Handling supplied material non-conformities, supporting RCA and CAPA activities, ensuring on time closure of NCRs / SCARs
* Establish, deliver and maintain annual supplier audit programme
* Internal and supplier audits Requirements: * HND minimum qualification in an engineering subject (electronics / mechanical / software)
* Certification in a recognised Quality Standard
* Full, clean driving licence
* Good knowledge of working within quality management frameworks
* Familiarity with the principles of the latest ISO 9001 standard
* Extensive experience in managing suppliers across a global supply chain
* Experience in supplier assessments, including compliance requirements and audits to industry standards
* Strong knowledge and understanding of SMT production lines
* Experience with ERP systems and PLM systems with extensive BoM
* Excellent auditor experience, able to confidently conduct both internal and supplier audits
* Experience of implementing quality practices demonstrating an understanding of industry best practices and how to apply relevant scalable processes Please contact us as soon as possible for more details or apply below
