Job Summary:
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Fostering Panel Members.
As a Fostering Panel Member, you will play a crucial role in assessing and making recommendations on prospective foster carers to ensure the safety and well-being of children in need of care.
We are particularly seeking an experienced Panel Chair, a panel member from the justice/police system and a care leaver.
This is a self employed position with a zero hours contract. You need to live within 20 miles of Canterbury
Responsibilities:
- Participate in panel meetings to review and evaluate prospective foster carers
- Conduct assessments and interviews with potential foster carers
- Ensure that all decisions are made in the best interests of the children involved
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations throughout the process
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children or in a child welfare setting is essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyse information and make informed decisions
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection policies
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting child welfare
