Salary: £55k - £65k dependent upon experience + car allowance + potential bonus + fantastic benefits

Position Summary

Nestlé Professional ("NP") is our Business-to-Business foodservice arm, which specialises in the Out of Home solutions market. NP operates successfully in an enormous marketplace and is an ambitious growth driver for Nestlé. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Category & Channel Manager to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract where you will have responsibility for the development and execution of the Branded Dessert Ingredients Category Strategy.

A day in the life of a Category & Channel Manager ...
In this exciting and dynamic role, you will develop and execute the strategy and value propositions for branded dessert ingredients and develop the plan to execute the brand strategy for NP Savoury Food in Channels and Customers.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building and executing Branded Desserts Ingredients Strategy aligned with Confectionery Category Strategy through Market Business Strategy (MBS) and Integrated Commercial Planning (ICP)
  • Driving channel strategy development, channel value propositions based on NPUK Food Brand Plans through MBS and ICP
  • Overseeing the Monthly Business Planning Process to manage R&O
  • Overseeing the Category Management agenda in influencing customer decisions on category space, ranging, merchandising, promotion & display and using and instilling Strategic Revenue Management (SRM) best practice
  • Designing and implementing the Branded Dessert Ingredients portfolio - aligned to the category strategy and Confectionery Brand Plans. Manages the I2L manager and directs the Product Specialist to ensure timely launches
  • Driving the category agenda by building a strong network of internal relationships with key account managers, offering objective category/insight support to create and secure customer agreements and lead business growth.
  • Strongly supporting acquisition of new customers, participating in lighthouse customer meetings to provide expertise and insight
  • Generating, tailoring and presenting compelling category insights to provide a competitive edge and a common internal picture of the market. Develops a thorough knowledge of competitor strategies and identifying opportunities to out manoeuvre.
  • Collaboratively working with the Brand Manager and B2B activation team to ensure the needed level of B2B marketing activity is in place for key customers and is aligned with our Category Strategy priorities.
  • Leading a team of 2, inspiring, coaching and nurturing their skills.

What will make you successful?
You will have already demonstrated successful performance within sales, having delivered successfully on top and bottom line KPI's over this period including successful new business delivery.

You will have previous category management experience, to include OOH and Foodservice.

Influencing skills are an important part of this role so you'll be able to communicate persuasively and credibly to multiple stakeholders internally as well to customers externally. You will need to demonstrate gravitas and a proactive, entrepreneurial innovative mind-set.

You will also have:

  • Demonstrated ability to use insight and analysis to join the dots
  • Evidence of strategic ability and proven data analytical capabilities
  • Strong Commercial experience through Category Management or Sales within FMCG
  • Flexibility and agility to solve problems / challenge rapidly and creatively
  • Strong evidence of working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver exceptional results
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate & collaborate with diverse teams
