We are hiring We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Health Officer working in our Housing Standards Team. Dorset is now one of the biggest local authorities in the country, in a beautiful part of Southwest England.

We are a new, 'up and coming' unitary council, who has just celebrated its 5 th birthday. We have achieved a lot in a short space of time, and we are looking for the right candidate to join us on the next stage of our journey.

Whether you're an experienced Environmental Health Officer or graduating this summer, the role in our Housing Standards Team will enable you to take your career to the next level, whatever you want that to be.

You'll get the chance to work on a wide range of private sector housing topics; from HMO's to HHSRS, Empty Homes to Park Homes. We have a track record of innovative service delivery, partnership working, digital solutions, project work and sensible, risk-based enforcement.

On the job support, training and other opportunities means you will develop personally and professionally, whether that means expanding your existing experience or completing your professional logbook towards EHORB registration and beyond.

You will have a Degree / MSC or Diploma in Environmental Health. You may have previous experience of working in an enforcement environment or housing related experience. However, we are also keen to hear from those graduating from CIEH accredited Environmental Health Degree/MSC course this summer

You will be customer focused, with a practical mind and enjoy working within an small team of people delivering a wide range of different enforcement services. For more information about the services we provide click here

The post is full time, job share may be considered and is subject to agreement by the Service Manager Housing Standards.
