Payments are a strategic priority for Swift and the evolving landscape in correspondent banking, instant, high and low value payments present new opportunities to both reinforce the position of our platform and roll-out our ambitious strategy to enable instant and frictionless cross-border transactions. The move towards ISO20022, the enhancement of our platform toward transaction management services and the evolution of our growing Swift gpi portfolio are areas of particular attention for us. In that context we are looking for a Payment Specialist- Commercial Manager reporting to the Head of Payments AMUK to support the account Management team for the UK region. The role will support coverage of the UK region and include some generic responsibilities across the AMUK Payments Team to execute our payments markets strategy and go-to-market plans locally through campaigns and projects, in collaboration with the regional business development organisation. In this role you will be the business development key contact and be a subject matter expert, supporting our clients and our sales force with your wide expertise on payments in your assigned region. You will have the responsibility to collaborate cross functionally, develop relationships very quickly and to make sure regional KPI's and activation metrics are achieved:

• Provide day to day assistance to business development and clients over the phone, in person and via email focussing on quality of service.

• Analyse target and pipeline reports, monitor and communicate performance against various business metrics

• Demonstrate endless initiative to solve client issues and requests

• Build strong relationships with Business Development Teams in order to provide the best client service,

• Develop subject matter expertise and articulate the value proposition for Swift's gpi portfolio and other payment related services

• Participate in end user insight research (working groups, surveys, bilateral meetings, industry events) to better understand the customers payments business and eco system

• Understand and support the customer onboarding and product life cycle and deliver sales training as well as provide both sales and customer support.

The AMUK Payments Experts team is part of the global Payments & Payments Market Infrastructures (PMI) team within the Go-to-market group. We execute SWIFT's payment strategy, leverage our in-depth expertise to accelerate our market share, and drive usage and adoption of products and services. We develop and share thought leadership on market trends and evolution, to contribute to the development of relevant products and services for our clients, and to design and support the Go-to-Market strategy.

We engage intensively with our customers on the future of payments. This group works closely with Business Development, Strategy, and other expert groups (for example, capital markets, corporate customers, financial crime and compliance and standards teams) towards an aligned set of objectives.

What to Expect:

  • Contribute to the development of go to market and customer engagement strategies and execute the regional adoption and activation plans for SWIFTgpi and our holistic transaction banking proposition
  • Act as the product owner regionally for the Swift gpi product, driving adoption of current products and services, engaging with our customers on the product roadmap features and functions
  • Ensure the local community is equipped and ready for making the move to ISO20022 standards for cross-border payments and correspondent banking. Financial institutions will need to understand impacts, the implementation roadmap, the broader picture as well as the benefits of adopting the ISO20022 standards
  • Ensure alignment of our go-to-market and business development activities with our evolving global payments strategy
  • Understand market and customer insights deeply and ensure fit between strategy and execution in the region
  • Contribute to thought leadership, media engagements and conference programs, payments and transaction banking industry engagement. Make full use of communication tools such as media, conferences, publications and thought leadership promoting payment innovation leadership
  • Ensure deep understanding of the competition, market trends, and the changing operating and regulatory environment across the region as it relates to cross-border payments innovation, transaction banking and payment & settlement systems
  • Initiate, own and lead projects, campaigns and initiatives that drive increased relevance, product usage and adoption, revenue growth and market share

What will make you successful?

  • Ability to provide exceptional standards of internal and external relationship building, can work productively and are client focussed
  • Exceptional personal brand and professionalism including disciplined time management
  • At least 3-5 years' experience in payments, transaction banking services or customer analytics role preferably gained in a marketing, strategy, business development or product management
  • Prior exposure to data analytics methodologies & tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) is a plus
  • Take initiative, operate at a sense of urgency and responsiveness to internal and customer requests
  • Natural problem solver who easily finds ways to improve the Swift financial services community and their end user experience
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and excel in a dynamic fast paced and cross functional team environment
  • Ability to research and provide key insights in the payments space
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills – delivery of product collateral, value proposition and marketing materials to expert sales and customers
  • Communicates key messages with clarity, consistency and confidence has impact.
  • Experience in working in a diverse, multi-cultural environment and across geographies and teams
  • Strong collaborator who is passionate about working in a team, sharing knowledge, and supporting their peers
  • Adaptable and comfortable taking directions
  • Excellent internal and external interpersonal and networking skills including at senior management level
  • Comfortable with high levels of ambiguity and the skills to prioritise within a rapidly changing environment
  • Fluent in English, Spanish also be beneficial.
  • The flexibility for some travel across UKI as required
