Summary
Harris Academy Merton are looking to recruit a Family Support Worker.

This will be an individual who is dedicated to helping Academy families and enable students to meet their academic and social targets.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Your areas of responsibility will include:

  • CPOMS (safeguarding reporting system) pickups
  • Safeguarding radio calls
  • Medical pick ups
  • Contextual safeguarding support:
  • CSE
  • Social media
  • Substance misuse


SEND
  • Behaviour 1:1s
  • IIP & PSP 1:1s
  • Student voice prior to external CP/CIN/TAC/TAF meeting
  • Attendance:
  • Liaise with attendance team & obtain list for home visits
  • Home visits with SEN support team
  • External agency support, including:
  • Off the record
  • Enable
  • School nurse
  • Sixth form Early Help support
  • Lunchtime Learning Zone support
  • Management of SEND student rest breaks
  • Weekly reporting to DSL/DDSL
  • Medical 1:1s

Qualifications & Experience
We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • Qualifications to A Level and a relevant degree (or equivalent)
  • Relevant training to support role e.g. safeguarding, FGM, Prevent, CSE
  • Previous experience in an administration capacity
  • Experience of working within a customer service role involving liaison with colleagues, stakeholders or clients
  • Experience of supporting children and young people with a variety of needs
  • Experience of working in a dynamic working environment where adaptability and flexibility are key features
  • Experience of working with young adults in a support role
  • Knowledge and experience of safeguarding and the topics relevant to children and young people
  • Experience of counselling and running intervention workshops
