Caseworker 0-25 SEND Statutory Assessment Team Role Profile

An exciting opportunity has arisen, to support children and young people in Plymouth who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

If you have the desire and determination to make a difference, you could be working as part of the 0-25 Statutory Assessment Team, utilising your excellent inter-personal skills to fulfil the role of Caseworker.

The role requires that you are the first point of contact for parents/carers, Head Teachers, Special Educational Needs Coordinators and other service users for pupils involved in the Education, Health and Care Plan process of statutory assessment.

You will be responsible for ensuring that cases are handled in an effective, professional and timely manner, to meet Statutory deadlines and Key Performance Indicators, in turn contributing to an extensive network of educational support within the City.

The role encompasses the timely receipt, coordination and collation of all advice in relation to the statutory assessment and compilation of an Education, Health and Care Plan.

These are just some of the elements required to undertake the role of caseworker and should you be interested in applying, we encourage you to read the Role Profile.

This role is not suitable for flexible working due to the needs of the service.

As part of our commitment to promoting equality we offer guaranteed interviews to those who meet the essential criteria and are considered disabled, have been in Plymouth City Council care or are an Armed Forces Service Leaver within the last two years.

For more information or an informal discussion, please contact John Bygrave, 0-25 SEND Casework Team Manager, on
