Protocol Education are seeking Teaching Assistants to work on a
Full-time basis with children with SEND. We are working with a number of Secondary Schools in the Newcastle upon Tyne area (United Kingdom). We have long-term roles beginning immediately (pending clearance) until at least July 2023.

You
must be available to work Monday

  • Friday (Fulltime). To be cleared for work, you
    will need an
    Enhanced DBS/ be willing to obtain one, at the cost of £38 and the
    Right to Work
    in the UK. This is a great opportunity for anyone considering a career in Teaching or Educational Psychology, for example, to gain experience whilst being paid in a rewarding setting.

The role:

  • Supporting children with SEND on a 1:1 and small group basis.
  • Ensuring that the pupils can integrate as fully as possible in the activities generally undertaken by the other children in the class and make progress.
  • To develop knowledge of the particular needs of the children and seek advice from the SENCo, class teacher and outside agencies as required.
  • Provide positive reinforcements, praise and rewards to pupils.
  • Motivate pupils to learn and be sociable.
  • To maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the pupil's needs but have regard to the safeguarding procedures of the school.
  • Hold a university degree
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have an Enhanced DBS/ be willing to obtain one
  • Be able to work Monday-Friday (term time)
  • Have a supporting and encouraging manner with young children
