The Infrastructure Investments Group ("IIG" or the "Group") is a dedicated team and business unit within JPMAM Global Alternatives focused on advising a perpetual-life strategy that offers investors a moderate-risk, long-term approach to private infrastructure equity investing that is diversified both in terms of geography and subsector.
The strategy advised by IIG is one of the largest of its kind with over US$30 billion in committed capital under management, representing approximately 10 times growth in assets under management over the past 10 years.
The current portfolio includes 20 companies that in turn own c.800 underlying assets globally.
The strategy focuses on active management through control positions (majority equity ownership) in private companies as the long-term owner of companies that provide essential services (water, heat and electricity), such as renewable energy; water, natural gas and electric utilities; and trains and airports, which are all vital to the economic health and productivity of the communities in which they operate.
Facilitated by the perpetual structure, the strategy in particular targets sustained growth through both new investments and capital deployment via bolt-on acquisitions to existing platform companies.
Control positions permit significant influence on investments and IIG strives to add value via the formulation and implementation of business process improvements, active asset management and board of director participation.
Providing local essential services - with employees, customers and communities that often overlap - requires the investments IIG advises to be well-governed, have a strong culture and be stewards of the environment in order to fulfill the terms of their social license to operate (safe, reliable, affordable, sustainable).

The IIG team is comprised of 38 dedicated Investment Principals and 26 specialist team members including fundraising, investor relations, execution, tax, research and finance, based in London and New York.
Responsibilities
The Investment Principal Associate will work closely with senior IIG team members to effect long-term strategies for the Group, including:
- Interacting with sellers, partners, investment bankers and advisors to source and review select acquisition opportunities, including leading deal and structuring teams
- Screening investment opportunities from a qualitative and quantitative perspective, including taking an active role in due diligence, managing thirdparty experts and advisors, and discussing preliminary findings
- Drafting and presenting investment memorandums for internal investment committees and board meetings and external client presentations
- Developing and executing business plans for portfolio companies pre
- Overseeing and managing relationships with shareholders, operating partners and coinvestors
- Liaising directly with portfolio company management on all aspects of business development, including M&A and financings
- Participating actively in the budgeting and strategic planning processes at portfolio companies
- Attending board and committee meetings for portfolio companies
- Supporting all aspects of fundraising activities
- Monitoring and maximizing cash flow from investments
Qualifications
- c years of experience in private equity or infrastructure buy-side investing, investment banking, project finance and/or related infrastructure operating company experience; strategic consulting with previous experience in infrastructure assets may also be considered
- Working proficiency in operating and valuation models, including discounted cash flow analyses
- Interest in infrastructure (e.g. transportation, renewable energy, water)
- Commitment to the highest standards of integrity and ethics
- Robust quantitative and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Desire to work in a collaborative and teamoriented environment
