Responsible to the Parenting Lead,, you will be working as part of a team delivering evidenced based parenting interventions in conjunction with both health and education based colleagues.

This will include assessments, individual work and group based interventions.

East Lancashire Child and Adolescent Service (ELCAS) is a CQC rated outstanding service which delivers Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) services to young people across Pennine Lancashire.

We are currently looking to recruit a Parenting Support Practitioner to work within the departments parenting pathway to assist in the assessment and group interventions for parent training.

The role will also include collection and collation of clinical information, liaison with other agencies e.g. school, inputting information from questionnaires and using computer software.


Some travel will be expected as part of this role, so access to private transport for work purposes is essential, although groups and assessments are also being delivered remotely.

ELCAS is part of the Division of Family Care, and we have close relationships with Paediatric colleagues.

We have an innovative Primary Care team working with local GPs; established Mental Health Support Teams in schools; and enjoy good links with a range of third sector agencies through our CYP IAPT Partnership.


Responsible to the Operational Lead, the Parenting Support Practitioner will provide specialist parenting support and interventions to families under supervision of Mental Health Practitioners.

This will involve work both within the hospital base and within community settings and well as providing interventions over remote platforms.

Through assessments, 1:1 and group interventions, you will treat children and families with respect, courtesy and given attention to their privacy, dignity, religious and cultural beliefs at all times.
