Working time:
Full time, term time only. Fixed term contract until May 2023
Responsible to:
Vice Principal Curriculum & Planning/Relevant Head of Department
Main purpose of the post:
- To support the tuition activity above and beyond what is already set out in the planned educational activity of a students' programme
- To provide innovative and engaging support
- To support a caseload of learners to fill skills and knowledge gaps, to mitigate the disruption to learning arising from the coronavirus pandemic
Main duties:
- Liaise, proactively, with Heads of Department and teachers across the curriculum to plan appropriate academic support for students.
- Support a caseload of students with their qualification and general study skills, through individual and small group work. (maximum groups of 5 students)
- Plan and deliver high quality small group tuition and intervention to a caseload of vocational and academic learners, based on their skills gaps.
- Produce reports requested by senior managers, to document the progress of students receiving support.
- Attend meetings when requested, to review the support being provided and consider necessary adjustments.
- Create a purposeful, positive and supportive working environment, sensitive to equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Commit to all college policies, particularly ensuring that the safeguarding of students is maintained at all times.
- Promote the welfare of children and young people
- Contribute to the College mission and ethos and support the aims and objectives of the College.
- Follow and comply with the College's policies and procedures as outlined in the Staff Handbook and take responsibility for the duty of care in respect the levels of Health & Safety across the College.
- Undertake any other duties of an equal nature as assigned by the Centre Principal or their designated alternate.

Up to £23,777.00 per year
