About the Trust
At South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust we provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK.
Our staff serve a local population of nearly two million people. We have more than 230 services including inpatient wards, outpatient, and community services.
We provide inpatient care for over 5,000 people each year and we treat more than 45,000 patients in the community in Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, and Croydon.
As well as serving the communities of south London, we provide more than 50 specialist services for children and adults across the UK and beyond.
What you'll be responsible for:
- To provide high level administration and diary management support to the Deputy Director and the Associate Medical Directors for Croydon, as well as supporting the wider Croydon pathway including Heads of Profession and General Managers.
- Management and monitoring of annual leave, sickness, fire training and appraisals for the Deputy Director's direct reports.
- Organising all aspects relating to the recruitment of staff including the completion of ECFs, advertising vacancies internally and externally and coordinating the interview process.
- To provide a front of house service for the senior management offices, including managing the supplies ordering process, as well as general housekeeping.
- To support the administration team in ensuring that all admin and office process documents, structure charts and contact lists are maintained and that they are communicated throughout the Directorate as appropriate.
- To prepare agendas and disseminate papers ahead of Directorate meetings and to minute a number of these meetings. To take appropriate follow up actions as required.
You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
- An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.
- Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.
- A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.
You'll have the following skills/experience:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
- Extensive administration experience
- Minute taking experience
- Previous NHS experience
- Excellent keyboard & IT skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Microsoft Office package knowledge e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel
