IBK are supporting a gentleman in his 20's to find a PA. The gentleman is an intelligent and focused person who enjoys theme parks and animation. He has a diagnosis of autism and can sometimes struggle with anxiety.

The focus of the support is to help him build his independent living skills in the family home, as well as going out and about in the community.

The pandemic has been hard on him so he needs a patient and understanding PA who can help to re build his confidence and make the most of his time.

Before the pandemic this young man had a full and enjoyable life and he wants to build back to regaining this.

He volunteered at a library, attended a course, travelled independently and was part of contributing to his community in lots of ways.

Could you play a major part in helping this young man to reclaim his life?

The family live in the S6/Walkley area of Sheffield.

Hours:

Fridays: 4 hours


There is also the possibility of more hours and an extra day each week based on the young man's current assessment.

This is TBC.

Essential

  • Willing to learn from the family and his other PA
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Be friendly, reliable, and honest; and maintain confidentiality.
  • Be respectful in the familyhome.
  • Be creative and confident with a fun and professional approach
  • A resilient and patient nature
  • Skilled in gently motivating young people

Desirable

  • Have ideas of new activities and things to explore for the young man
  • Experience and understanding of autism and OCD tendencies
  • Have interests you might share with the young person
