About the Role:

GSL Education is currently seeking to appoint an Autism Specialist TA to undertake a position at one of our client schools in Sheffield. As an Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) within our school community. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create individualized support plans and ensure that each student receives the tailored assistance they need to reach their full potential.

Role of anAutism Specialist TA:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with autism spectrum disorder
  • Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans
  • Support students in developing social skills and managing behavior
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a supportive learning environment
  • Communicate regularly with parents and external professionals to provide updates on student progress

The successful candidate will:

  • Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder
  • Understanding of different communication and sensory needs
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Relevant qualifications or willingness to undergo training
