Are you looking to kick start your career or grow your career in a different industry? If you're passionate about customer service, teamwork and sales and want the opportunity to earn whilst you train for a nationally recognised qualification, we want to hear from you

Keyline Civils Specialists is the UK's number one supplier of specialist civils and drainage solutions, and specialist rail and utilities materials. We're part of the Travis Perkins Group, and proud to have been recognised as one of the UK's top employers since 2010.

What will I be doing?
Not one day is the same as the next in TP branch life, but here are a few pointers:

  • Our success is built on strong relationships with our customers so it's essential that you can help deliver the highest standards of service
  • the key thing is to be helpful and friendly at all times, you will likely get to know our customers on a first name basis.
  • You will be based on the counter, processing our customers orders, preparing quotes, keeping the shop floor clean and tidy, and putting away any stock that comes in.
  • You will also book in our supplier deliveries.
  • Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment

My name is Lucy, and I currently work as part of the recruitment team here at Travis Perkins, but I started off working in my local branch on a Development Programme when I was 26 years old, to which I became a Yard Manager at my branch.

Let me tell you more about us, and why you should consider a career with our brilliant business.

Let's be honest, no one grows up with a burning passion to work in a builders merchant (well, I know I certainly didn't).

I didn't really know what to expect, but since joining, I have been supported by an amazing team that have an unrivalled passion to provide an excellent level of service to our local customers (typically builders and tradespeople) and I'm now working in a completely different area of the business in an area that I love.

Training on offer:

As part of your role you will enrol onto a 12 month programme, you will gain a Level 2 in Customer Service.

All of your learning is "on the job", Travis Perkins values a work-life balance and there is no need for you to complete any of your work "out of hours".

The training consists of a number of modules and you will have a dedicated coach that will guide you throughout, as well as being supported by your line manager (and in my case a really supportive team who I consider to be my friends)

Just remember you are

never too old for an Apprenticeship, I joined Travis Perkins as an Apprentice at the age of 26.

Once your development programme is completed you will remain a valued member of the team.

What's in it for you?

A competitive salary and benefits which include 22 days holiday, colleague bonus and colleague discounts across the Travis Perkins Group businesses.

We also have a number of online discounts at leading retailers from theme parks to eating out and cinemas. Our working hours also offer a great work life balance - most of our customers choose to enjoy their weekends and bank holidays which means you can too

We're driving to become a truly inclusive employer.

We want everyone to be at their best and it's our ambition that everyone within our Group feels safe, welcome and confident to be their authentic selves.

You be you, it makes us, us.
