Our Client is a rapidly growing subsea technology innovator. With regional offices across the planet, our Client is fast becoming the partner of choice in spearheading cutting-edge marine and subsea products, technology and support services. Due to rapid global growth, our Client is now seeking a Global L&D Manager to join them permanently. The Global Learning and Development Manager will play a critical role in leading business critical L&D initiatives. This role will involve significant worldwide travel (Middle East, Asia, South Africa, UK and US).

Role purpose

To lead and oversee the design, development and implementation of global learning and development strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives while developing employees' skills and knowledge. You will work closely with senior leadership, HR teams, and subject matter experts to identify training needs, develop comprehensive learning strategies, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Role and responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive global learning and development strategy aligned with the company's objectives and growth plans.
  • Identify training needs through collaboration with department heads, HR business partners, and performance reviews, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Design, develop, and deliver a range of learning solutions, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, workshops, and on-the-job learning experiences.
  • Providing leadership development plans to equip managers with the skills necessary to lead and drive business success.
  • Designing and implementing training and competence strategies to ensure quality standards are met across all lines of business.
  • Evaluate existing training programs and materials, making recommendations for improvements and updates to ensure relevance, effectiveness, and engagement.
  • Partner with external vendors, consultants, and educational institutions to source relevant content, tools, and resources to enhance learning initiatives.
  • Implement learning management systems (LMS) or other technology platforms to streamline the delivery and tracking of training programs across global locations.
  • Collaborate with HR to integrate learning and development initiatives into performance management processes, succession planning, and career development frameworks.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of learning programs, making data-driven decisions to optimize outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in learning and development, continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and enhance our approach.
  • Create, lead and mentor a team of L&D professionals, providing guidance, support, and coaching to foster a culture of learning and professional growth within the organization

Knowledge and experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Significant preference given to those with L&D training certificates
  • Experience in learning and development, with a proven track record of designing and implementing successful training programs in a global organization.
  • Experience in designing and implementing L&D programs in subsea technology sector
  • Track record of leading global teams and managing complex L&D projects
  • Experience working in a global context, including managing cross-cultural teams and addressing diverse learning needs
  • Experience of deploying innovative approaches to L&D such as incorporating emerging tech or adaptive learning methodologies
  • Strong understanding of recruitment strategies, talent management, succession planning, and leadership development as well as adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training delivery techniques.
  • Change management experience driving organisational change through learning initiatives and fostering a culture of continuous learning
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective training programs that address organizational needs and objectives.
  • Experience managing learning management systems (LMS) and other technology platforms for training delivery and administration.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, meet deadlines, and drive results.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience leading and developing a team of L&D professionals.
  • Experience working in matrix organizations and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
