Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Band 5 Nurse to work within our Specialist Learning Disability Service. The post holder will work as part of the nursing team, providing care and support for individuals with learning disabilities and/or Autism who also live with a comorbid mental health diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as a registered nurse within an inpatient service, providing high-quality care and support to individuals with learning disabilities and/or Autism.
  • Develop and maintain good knowledge of legislation relevant to this client group, and apply this knowledge in practice.
  • Utilize advanced communication skills to build strong relationships with individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • Contribute to a culture of nursing excellence, promoting patient experience and outcomes, staff wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
  • Work on a rotational contract of days and nights, with opportunities for professional development and growth.

Requirements:

  • 1st level Registered Learning Disability Nurse qualification.
  • Good knowledge base and understanding of legislation relevant to this client group.
  • Advanced communication skills and experience of working within an inpatient service as a registered nurse.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
