GHD, a leading engineering and consulting firm, is looking for an exceptional individual to join us as a Principal Process Engineer.

This role is a key leadership position, requiring expertise in the industrial sector, including chemical, manufacturing, and nuclear environments. As a Chartered Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and ensuring technical excellence.

What we are looking for:

Experience:
Experience of process design and construction project support experience within the industrial sector specifically chemical, manufacturing, and nuclear sectors.

Demonstrated expertise in producing and managing the production of process engineering design deliverables, such as P&IDs, Basis of Design documents, Control Philosophies, Cause & Effect Charts, mass balance, unit sizing calculations and equipment data sheets.

Experience in hazard studies, risk assessments, and safety-related activities.
Previous exposure to multidisciplinary design teams, providing relevant input into mechanical layouts & arrangements and electrical design.

Qualifications:
Chartered Engineer status.
Relevant engineering degree in chemical, process, or a related discipline.

Skills:
Strong technical proficiency in process engineering design (concept / FEED and detailed design).
Excellent project management and leadership skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Commitment to safety, quality, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:
Provide design briefs to younger engineers.
Oversee design documentation ensuring designs meet the client requirements, industry standards, and regulations.
Act as a mentor to junior engineers, sharing knowledge and fostering professional development.

Project Delivery:
Lead and contribute to multidisciplinary teams on industrial projects.
Ensure the successful delivery of process engineering components, meeting quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
Contribute to resource allocation.
Participate in hazard studies, risk assessments, and other safety-related activities.

Client Engagement:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients in the industrial sector.
Understand client requirements and contribute to the development of tailored solutions.
Provide technical expertise and guidance during client interactions.

Innovation and Best Practices:
Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices within the process team.
Ensure engineers adhere to GHD's quality procedure.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Collaboration:
Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.
Engage with clients in the industrial sector.
Work closely with other engineering disciplines.
