Due to an increase in responsive repair needs for our customers, we are currently seeking a Multi Skilled Joiner to join our team based in Northallerton.

The main purpose of this role is to carry out repairs across multiple trade disciplines to properties.

You'll deliver an excellent repairs service to our customers and assist in providing them with homes of the highest standards.


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out repairs including plumbing, tiling, plastering, flooring, painting and decorating
  • Ensuring the health, safety and welfare of yourself and anyone who may be affected by your work
  • Providing expert advice in your core trade discipline
  • Being proactive in supporting line manager and trade colleagues
  • Developing technical skills to enable the use of mobile handheld devices
  • Making effective use of materials
  • Keeping abreast of any changes in building, planning health and safety legislation
  • Undertaking any checks required of vehicles provided
  • Have completed a recognised apprenticeship or hold a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Have experience from within the housing repair / maintenance sector
  • Have experience of dealing with the public
  • Ideally have experience of working within a social housing / local authority environment with experience of void repairs
  • Be a strong communicator
  • Organised with the ability to plan and prioritise a varied workload to meet targets
  • Have the ability to diagnose maintenance problems and identify solutions
  • Be able to follow / identify maintenance and improvement works from work instructions and technical drawings and plans
  • Have knowledge of construction methods and be able to undertake awork across a number of trades
  • Will hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle
