Principal Training Consultant

The company AtkinsRéalis Training Services team is looking for a skilled Principal Training Consultant to join their team. This role offers the exciting opportunity to lead the Training Services team and enhance the Training consultancy capability across various markets.

We need a highly experienced principal training consultant to handle complex defence and safety-critical projects, involving research, design, delivery, and evaluation of training solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in team management and in all elements of Training Needs Analysis (TNA) following a Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process, in alignment with JSP 822 – Defence Systematic Approach to Training (DSAT).

This position is based in one of the regional offices of AtkinsRéalis in the UK. However, candidates should note that the Training Services team operates from the Bristol office, which requires flexibility for travel.

Your responsibilities:

  • Manage and author high-quality analytical reports complying with industry/MOD standards.
  • Supervise the delivery of all components of Defence TNA projects using the DSAT process.
  • Demonstrate detailed understanding of a SAT or ADDIE training methodology as described by JSP 822.
  • Experienced in assuring/developing and implementing complex training programs and strategies.
  • Lead senior consultants on larger projects.
  • Oversee multiple training research, analysis, and design requirements.
  • Engage effectively with stakeholders to support clients with competence management processes.
  • Lead technical input on training approach, methodology, and costs for proposals.
  • Organized, able to prioritize tasks, work to deadlines, and manage changing requirements.

Essential Skills:

Authorised to work in the UK, with the ability to be Security Cleared.Thorough understanding and application of SAT/ADDIE policies and processes.Experience in UK Defence/Industry training consultancy.Strong analytical skills and experience in TNA outputs.Design of training materials using a SAT-compliant methodology.Knowledge of technology-enhanced media for effective training.Establishing strong working relationships with customers and colleagues.Degree educated, preferably in Engineering or Learning & Development related field.
