Date: May 21, 2024

Location: Birmingham, Birmingham, United Kingdom

Company: BT Group

Recruiter: Tom Ford

External Closing Date: 3rd June 2024

Why this job matters

Over the next 3 years, our transformation programmes are going to replace every product, process, and technology tool that our colleagues and customers use today. We are going to make major shifts towards being a digital-first organisation, with zero touch processes and GenAI embedded at our core. A drive to modernise the organisation is the key priority for BT Business. To modernise we need to drastically simplify our portfolio. You'll be at the heart of this by identifying opportunities to reduce the number of products we have in BT Business. You will analyse and interpret key data to make recommendations on how we rationalise our portfolio and migrate our customers from legacy products to our strategic portfolio. An expert in managing change, you'll work closely with colleagues across the business, including Product, Digital, Service and Marketing teams, to move the organisation to a new portfolio and realise the benefits of migrating away from old systems and processes.

What you'll be doing

  • Creating plans for and executing on the withdrawal of an agreed set of products
  • Creating commercial decision framework for product withdrawals and interlocking with product teams on their plans
  • Own product rationalisation from initial plan to rationalise, through migration to product closure
  • Building cross functional relationships with Digital, Product, Segment and Service to interlock on plans and benefits
  • Communicating progress to Senior Manager, Director and MD level stakeholders

This job is based in Birmingham but we will consider any of the Strategic hubs. Hybrid (3 days office based, 2 days remote). Monday to Friday, 9-5.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to analyse a variety of data points relating to a topic and form a set of recommendations
  • Ability to enact and embed change in the organisation
  • Ability to plan and deliver to timelines, capturing and highlighting risks and issues when encountered
  • Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder ties even during challenging conversations
  • Ability to build a culture of continuous learning and development and mutual support

What we'd like to see on your CV

  • Experience working on projects that involved you analysing complex data and making recommendations
  • Examples of strong stakeholder management, including delivering difficult messages to senior stakeholders
  • Examples of driving change within an organisation with demonstratable output

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • 10% on target bonus
  • 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), increasing with service
  • BT Pension scheme, minimum 5% Employee contribution, BT contribution 10%
  • Huge range of flexible benefits including cycle to work, childcare vouchers, healthcare, season ticket loan
  • Option to join BT Shares Saving schemes
  • Discounted BT products including broadband and BT Sport
  • Access to 100's of retail discounts including the BT shop

With over 175 years of heritage, BT is now the flagship business brand of BT Group. We've brought together our best people and capabilities into a B2B powerhouse serving 1.2 million business customers internationally.

We're a global leader for secure connectivity and collaboration platforms for businesses of all shapes and sizes, from big household names and government departments, right through to sole traders and new start-ups. But it's not just the technology that matters, it's what it can do to help them build stronger, smarter, more secure businesses.

We value diversity and inclusion and believe in making a positive impact. We connect for good by championing digital inclusion and equipping people, businesses, and communities with digital skills to thrive.

As a member of our team, you will be part of an organisation that celebrates difference, fosters innovation and provides you with opportunities to be your best. With millions of businesses relying on us daily, joining BT means you can be part of a diverse and multi-skilled team that makes a significant impact to society.

A FEW POINTS TO NOTE:

Although these roles are listed as full-time, if you're a job share partnership, work reduced hours, or any other way of working flexibly, please still get in touch.

DON'T MEET EVERY SINGLE REQUIREMENT?

Studies have shown that women and people who are disabled, LGBTQ+, neurodiverse or from ethnic minority backgrounds are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single qualification and criteria. We're committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace where everyone can be their best, so if you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every requirement on the Job Description, please apply anyway - you may just be the right candidate for this or other roles in our wider team.
