Position Overview:

Responsibilities:

  • Create garment patterns and grade them according to client specifications and size requirements.
  • Develop clothing prototypes using both traditional and innovative techniques, ensuring accurate fit and construction.
  • Operate sewing machines and other equipment to produce garments efficiently and accurately.
  • Work closely with designers and clients to understand their vision and translate it into tangible products.
  • Run small batches of production, adhering to production schedules and quality standards.
  • Utilise garment technology tools and software to streamline production processes and optimise efficiency.
  • Assist in the development of upcycled collections, repurposing materials to create unique and sustainable garments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring equipment is properly maintained and safety protocols are followed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a sewing machinist, with a strong understanding of sewing, tailoring, and garment construction techniques.
  • Proficiency in pattern making and grading, with the ability to create and modify patterns to meet specific requirements.
  • Familiarity with garment technology tools and software, such as CAD systems and pattern drafting software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision, with the ability to produce highquality work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Passion for sustainability and a commitment to reducing the environmental impact of the fashion industry.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements in a fastpaced studio environment.
