About the role


This role is the senior leader for the Supply Chain function within Osler and as such is accountable for developing and sustaining a fully integrated, end to end world class Supply Chain Management function capable of initially meeting internal stakeholder requirements and later the external customer delivery requirements, ensuring on time/in full/best cost expectations are met within regulatory parameters.


The role should act as a figurehead for the Supply Chain function, representing the function at senior level meetings with suppliers, peers, and other internal stakeholders.

They should lead their team by example - championing and role-modelling the core values in all activities and interactions undertaken.


Initially, the focus for the incumbent will be on the consolidation of various Supply Chain elements within the business, forming and developing a new team to support activities associated with design verification / validation and process validation, and also the systemisation of procurement, supplier service and performance, and material receipt and handling processes.

Longer term goals will involve strategic supplier selection (including 3rd party manufacturers), planning systems, and distribution modelling.

Main responsibilities:

  • Foster a workplace culture in all areas within own remit that prioritises the health, safety, and wellbeing of its employees. Ensure proactive adherence to Health and Safety, legislative and regulatory requirements to protect the company, satisfy compliance, and ensure employee wellbeing. Rigorously manage nonconformance or contrary behaviours where known.
  • Define and drive the supply chain strategy for the company ensuring a robust and fully integrated Supply Chain function capable of delivering critical strategic supply chain projects which enhance the customer experience while simultaneously achieving costs and operational deliverables.
  • Ensure functional deliverables within the new product introduction, engineering change and end of life management processes are delivered to technical, quality, cost, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Define, develop, and execute an SI&OP business process ensuring appropriate planning mechanisms, practices, and disciplines are in place to maintain sufficient inventory levels, optimal lead times, and requisite quality controls to ensure fulfilment of external and internal demands for products, associated componentry, and consumables.
  • Oversee the daytoday management of suppliers and service providers ensuring service levels are maintained, risks are mitigated, issues are resolved, and customer deliveries are not compromised. Engage and leverage technical and quality resources as required.
  • Develop and continually review the Approved Supplier List ensuring the capacity and capability of primary and secondary sources is maintained and supply chain risks are fully mitigated. Contribute to the selection, and facilitate the onboarding, of new suppliers as required.
  • Manage inventory levels consignment, raw materials, boughtin components, workinprogress, and finished goods stock ensuring business working capital targets are achieved, stock visibility and accuracy is maintained, and stock obsolescence/disposal risks are fully mitigated.
  • Oversee the creation, release, closure, and reconciliation of Production/Works/Trials Orders ensuring material consumption variances are fully understood, systemic issues are resolved, and accurate stock records maintained as necessary.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with suppliers to explore available opportunities that will yield long term benefits in support of supply chain strategy and business goals.
