Director of People & Culture for the UK and Ireland

Job Scope

As a Director of People & Culture, you will be responsible for the Cycas UK and Ireland Portfolio of the effective management and performance of all Human Resources related activities. This includes talent management, succession planning, learning and development and training, performance management, Engagement, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and health and safety initiatives.

Promote a positive team culture while ensuring the guests experience is unique and brings the brand to life.

What do we need you to be able to do?

  • Be the leader of the People Culture Plan.
  • Work closely with Commercial, Operational and Finance support teams.
  • Ensure culture and processes are in place for encouraging succession planning and internal development.
  • Monitor adherence to internal policies and country legal standards
  • Diligent & firm with high ethical standards

Recruitment

  • Using the Cycas ATS System - Manage the recruitment process with the key stakeholders / on property People & Culture teams and GM/Hotel Manager.
  • Ensure recruitment and selection procedures are adhered to by the Culture team and all recruiting managers.
  • Drive promotion of the employer brand through careers fairs, local networking opportunities
  • Plan and forecast the short and long-term talent requirements for the hotel.
    Maintain a best practice recruitment approach, including the Company's vacancy management system, to attract the best applicants
    Build a strong career and succession planning system to retain and develop talent

HR.

  • Exceptional knowledge of employment legislation, regulations, and union relationship within the UK and Ireland
  • Thorough knowledge of Human Resources management principles and best practices
  • Management of all new starter information/paperwork, work permits/visas and ongoing file management to ensure all Cycadettes are legal to work.
  • Management of HR System
  • Ensure Cycas HR procedures/best practise are efficient and effective as well as fitting the business and being consistent across the hotels
  • Assist in the development and implementation of any new Cycas HR processes and initiatives.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of company policies and manage the implementation of and communication of these within the hotel
  • Oversee and lead on the execution of core HR processes i.e., Absence management, salary reviews, payroll processing, probation
  • Ensure Monthly reporting is completed to relevant stakeholders
  • To coach & support People & Culture team and Cycas managers through HR processes and policies i.e., performance management.
  • Manage and resolve, promptly and completely, all employee relations issues
