What is the role?
This is an exciting opportunity for a Company Solicitor (Litigation) to join the Legal Team. Reporting to the Group Director of Legal Services.
The role will include:
- Attending meetings (in various Persimmon offices) as required
- Dealing with or overseeing householder litigation (including Code applications and ADR) on behalf of the Group
- Working collaboratively with the Group Director of Legal Services, MDs, customer care teams and others to mitigate the chances of litigation including the provision of training and Group instructions
- Monitoring the work conducted by external litigation solicitors including cost spend and risk analysis
- Acting as the "hub" through which referrals to external solicitors should be made
- Undertaking non-householder claims (by and against the company) as required by the Group Director of Legal Services and regional operating companies
- Supervising and training junior staff in litigation
- Providing advice on litigious or potentially litigious land law issues and commercial issues as required
- Giving training to IHLD, Group teams and OpCos as required on litigation mitigation issues and the like.
