Job Purpose

In this critical role within our Enterprise Architecture team, you will collaborate closely with the Mergers & Acquisitions/Integrations function, as well as Product, Security, and Technical teams. As a Technical Architect, you will spearhead the architectural design and planning for integrating various TMS products and their underlying IT systems in the UK.

You will contribute to the Platform, Information, Data, and Technology roadmaps, promoting an Agile delivery approach to ensure predictable rollouts and alignment with strategic IT objectives. Your role will drive best practices and enhance the integration of back-of-house systems, contributing to increased business agility and competitiveness through the delivery of high-quality integrated solutions.

TMS Integration Strategy and Architecture:

  • Design and implement an integrated set of TMS-related systems.
  • Research and recommend data tools and technologies to enhance system efficiency and integration, considering Zero Trust Architecture, Information Security, and Identity and Access Management principles.
  • Develop and maintain integration principles, standards, policies, and procedures to ensure secure, high-quality integrations and governance practices.
  • Collaborate with technical and product teams to align architecture roadmaps.
  • Lead successful technical system integrations by providing guidance, training, and support to stakeholders.
  • Stay current with trends and best practices, advocating their adoption within engineering teams.

Technical Expertise:

  • Utilize appropriate tools and information technologies to facilitate integration in a hybrid technical environment, including Linux, Windows, Java, .NET, SQL, NoSQL, and Cloud Native.
  • Knowledge and experience with DDD, API Design, Microservices, SOA, ETL, TDD, and related patterns and practices.
  • Understand principles and technologies for successful delivery of integrated products and services, including multi-tenant SaaS products, analytics, data warehouses, cloud-native systems, distributed systems, databases, ETL/ELT processes, legacy systems, on-prem/off-prem deployments, mobile and IoT data feeds, and customer/B2B integrations.

Required for this role

  • Proven experience as a Technical or Integrations Engineer, or a similar role with a successful track record of implementing best practices.
  • In-depth understanding of modern technical integration principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Strong familiarity with Agile development methodologies and practical experience in applying them.
  • Passion for automation and continuous improvement, with a drive to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate technical teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Understanding of cloud-native computing concepts and experience with hybrid or private cloud platforms is a plus.
  • Technical experience with Microsoft, Red Hat, and Apache software products.
  • Team-oriented with a passion for engineering excellence and the ability to lead and inspire a team of skilled engineers.
