Outwood Alternative Provision Eston is an innovative alternative provision centre, principally for students from Outwood Academies in the Northern Region who need additional behavioural, social, emotional or mental health support.

In line with our absolute commitment to inclusion in its widest sense, this is an alternative provision for vulnerable students who display challenging behaviours and are often at risk of high levels of fixed-period exclusions or permanent exclusion.


Operating much smaller classes than our mainstream academies, this KS3/4 alternative provision focuses on personal development and the health and well being of students, whilst not losing academic rigour.

The focus is on ensuring that all students can achieve well and are able to move to their next stage with confidence, be it education, employment or training.

We are an inclusive, and caring centre recently judged 'good' by Ofsted. At our heart, we aim to ensure we best meet the needs of our students. Our centre supports the most vulnerable students including those who have SEND and are disadvantaged. Many of our students experience significant barriers to learning and some have adverse childhood experiences.


We are seeking to appoint a SEND Officer with the drive to contribute to an atmosphere of respect, recognition, and mutual support within the academy.

Promoting equality and supporting the values and diversity of the school community is essential to our ethos.

Our SEND Officer will support our SENDCo to ensure the Academy identifies and addresses the needs of our students who may be in receipt of an EHCP or on the pathway to explore the needs for additional high needs funding.
