Tranent Library is a highly regarded safe space in the local community, attracting many unaccompanied children and young people outside of school hours. We are seeking 2 youth workers with a background in engaging with children and young people to create activities that match their interests. The age range of the children and young people at the library is from P3/4 to S1/2; hence, the ideal candidates will have experience in interacting with and supporting various age groups. The library staff has established positive connections with the young visitors of the library and will assist the chosen candidates in forming their relationships initially. However, the successful candidates should also demonstrate the ability to work independently. Job Details
  • Responsibilities include working as a group worker in youth work activities conducted by the Connected Communities Service.
  • Establishing contact and fostering positive relationships with young individuals to motivate them to actively engage in a variety of activities in a club, group, or outreach environment.
  • Assisting in recognizing the needs of young people and providing relevant guidance or interventions.
