Core ResponsibilitiesnReporting to Brownfield Land Associate Director/ Technical DirectornUnderstanding of geotechnical and contaminated land risks and the integration of geotechnical solutions on projects.nProject Management of brownfield land investigations and assessmentsnTendering / PricingnProject financial managementnPlan and manage ground investigations and monitoringnHealth & Safety risk assessment and implementation of good practicenSupervision of site investigationsnHuman Health and Water GQRAs and Gas Risk AssessmentsnPrepare Phase 1, 2 and 3 risk assessment reportsnDesign, manage and validate remediation schemesnSupervision and verification of remediationnRegulator & client liaisonnMentoring and training junior staff.nChecking/reviewing reports.

nEffectively communicate with clients, colleagues and outside agencies


Key SkillsnExcellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to work as part of a team and to engage with senior management, clients, and regulators.nExcellent reporting skillsnGood understanding of geotechnical and contaminated land development constraintsnProven track record in design and development of ground investigation works.nCommitted to a high standard of health and safety in regard to ground investigationsnDemonstrate an ability to understand complex problems and to conceive innovative solutions.nCan effectively communicate with clients, colleagues and outside agencies and build effective working relationships, always aiming to exceed client expectations.nExcellent time and organisational skills allowing completion of work to time and budget.nManage junior members to achieve project objectives on time and within budget.

Typical Qualifications & Experience


Approx years' experience of Brownfield land investigation and redevelopment.nBSc or MSc in Geotechnical Engineering / Geology / Earth or Environmental Sciences.nChartered or working towards chartership with a professional bodynKnowledge of UK/EU standards and Local Authority guidance on brownfield land redevelopment.
