Occupational Therapist Opportunity at Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust

We are looking for a dynamic Occupational Therapist to join our team at Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting Occupational Therapy Assessments, interventions, and groups within the Psychological Skills Service (PSS). You will have the chance to shape a sensory pathway through individual and group-based interventions, aiding individuals in understanding their sensory needs and preferences to enhance their occupational performance.

As part of an innovative project at CPFT, the PSS aims to bridge the gap in mental health care services. By providing interventions for individuals who would typically fall between primary and secondary care, we are dedicated to delivering continuous support and care.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions based on recovery principles
  • Manage a caseload with complex needs using specialized clinical reasoning
  • Help service users understand the impact of health conditions on occupational performance
  • Collaborate with service users to promote vocational rehabilitation
  • Contribute to the delivery of sensory-focused interventions
  • Plan and implement interventions to help service users achieve desired goals

Requirements:

  • Occupational Therapy bachelor’s degree
  • HCPC Registered OT
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health issues or learning disabilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively and critically appraise own performance

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in group interventions
  • Training in leadership and specialized assessments
