We are now recruiting for an Events Team Leader to join our Facilities team, in a 12-month fixed term capacity, working full time at our London offices located on key transport links in the town centre.


Role context and purpose:


The Events Team Leader is responsible for leading a small team and driving service excellence through direct liaison with customers to carefully determine and fulfil their requirements, as well as evaluating feedback, always striving to 'Make Things Better'.


The Events Team Leader will be driven to make London venue the "go to" event space for our members and external clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Building and maintaining key customer relationships both internally and externally to ensure understanding and fulfilment of requirements in order to maintain optimum service levels.
  • Actively seek and analyse customer feedback, providing reports on customer satisfaction and using the data to transform the customer experience and deliver continuous improvements.
  • Ensuring all customer meeting requests for space, catering, AV support etc, are responded to quickly, fulfilled and logged in our system in line with, or above the clients expectations.
  • Motivate, coach and lead the London team, to ensure excellent performance Managing a rota to ensure events are resourced appropriately.
  • Generation of new ideas to drive revenue and increase external meetings and events at the venue, working in collaboration with Brando develop and create a marketing campaign and collateral.
  • Ensure the AV equipment, furniture and venue are ready to use and in good repair. Arranging servicing and best value contracts while looking for improvements to the provision by gathering user requirements from all stakeholders.
  • Review, maintain and improve of all venue policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring BCS is compliant with relevant health and safety rules and regulations relating to events and the venue work alongside the wider team to schedule service visits and access.
  • Data analysis of feedback, revenues and occupation rates highlighting any trends, risks or opportunities. Constantly reviewing and searching for service improvement. Providing management data as and when required.
  • Continually look at ways to make improvements to systems, processes and procedures.
  • Strive to live the BCS' values and support our purpose.

Who we are looking for:

Education & Qualifications
Qualifications in events management, Facilities Management and/or audio visual, multimedia, sound technology or in any other relevant technical discipline would be advantageous

  • IOSH Managing Safely training can be provided
  • First Aid training can be provided
  • Fire Marshall training can be provided

Experience

  • Proven experience of AV set up and systems
  • Demonstrable experience of in a front of house / events and venue focussed role
  • Proven experience of leading and managing small teams
  • Proven experience of delivering full scale events through the complete event life cycle from conception to delivery.
  • Proven experience of working in a customer focussed environment

Knowledge

  • Relevant health and safety rules and regulations
  • Configuration and use of AV equipment, wireless networking, network topology, telephones, PCs, laptops, Apple Mac, Windows software and the Internet.
  • Some knowledge of data protection and processing personal data for events would be advantageous.

Special conditions

  • Able to work rostered shifts when required, covering 8am to 10pm over 35 hours a week, with occasional lone, evening and weekend working;
