About You

Are you an experienced mental health professional or social care worker with a recognised professional qualification working in a mental health setting? Have you considered training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)? If so, you may wish to consider training as a High Intensity Therapist.

If you feel you meet the following criteria then we would like to hear from you:

  • A registered core profession as recognised by the BABCP (see BABCP website) or
  • If you are PWP you need to have been qualified for at least 2 years (received certification and successful completion of the PWP training course)
  • Significant experience of working with people with mental health problems in a healthcare setting and experience of delivery of short term focused interventions
  • The ability to complete a one year academic training course
  • A commitment to equal opportunities
  • Where Will I Be Based?

As a trainee you will be part of an experienced team who will provide support including supervision and line management.

You will be based at:

  • Braintree

These High Intensity trainee positions include undertaking the Postgraduate Diploma in High Intensity CBT at The University of East Anglia, alongside clinical work within one of our teams.

Successful applicants will follow a 12 month pathway which combines University based study, self-directed learning, and in-service clinical work, qualifying as a HIT at the end.

The demands are high and the learning is challenging, however at the end of the year you will have a very valuable set of skills and a qualification

We are hoping to recruit a diversecohort from a wide range of backgrounds and different experiences, including professional or personal experience in the area of mental health.

Core professionals are welcome and encouraged to apply.

If you are currently a PWP, you will need to show that you have two years post qualification experience by the time the course starts.

A condition of this role is acceptance and continuation of the relevant study programme with the University. Successful applicants will be able to start with the service prior to commencing the University course.
