We are currently looking for an experience air freight operator to join Simarco Worldwide Logistics.

Position:

  • Assist the department & Manager to deliver services efficiently and effectively
  • Prepare quotations for all types of customer requirements, both import and export in an accurate and timely manner
  • Negotiate rates with airlines, and make bookings, Back to Back, consol, and direct Masters
  • Maximise profitability on shipment by obtaining best possible prices, while maintaining service requirements
  • Complete documentation accurately and quickly, ability to complete chambered documentation, letters of credit, and dangerous goods
  • Work closely with customers, colleagues and third parties to ensure smooth operations
  • Maintain communication and control through all phases of the journey, including recording statistics and management information for onward reporting by supervisor
  • Organise and deal with any special arrangements for delicate cargoes
  • Liaise effectively with overseas agents, taking into account different timezones and cultures
  • Develop and maintain good supplier relationships ensuring our service is second to none, and our rates are as competitive as can be
  • Maintain knowledge of legislation, political situations and other factors affecting the movement of freight
  • Invoice timeliness and accuracy

Monday - Friday

09:00 - 17:30

1 hounr lunch break

Requirements:

  • High level Import and Export Airfreight operational knowledge together with associated processes
  • Start to finish process knowledge
  • Ability to transmit CDS Import entries
  • Possess commercial acumen
  • Leadership skills an advantage
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate with carriers and suppliers
  • Outstanding organisation and planning skills
  • Knowledge and experience of dealing with overseas partners and markets
  • Flexible attitude to role
  • Ability to forge strong relationships both externally and internally
  • Able to work as a team and be also able to use their own initiative
