About Furbnow

Furbnow is a retrofit service for homeowners looking to start their journey to reducing their energy bills and carbon emissions, and having a warmer home. Customers want impartial advice and clear information on what will work for their home and lifestyle, how they can stage the work to fit their budget and minimise disruption. They want help finding installers and support if something goes wrong.

More detail on Furbnow can be found on our website.

Furbnow helps homeowners with a service that:

provides a whole home retrofit plan to achieve your goals for your home

gets them underway with their project: connects homeowners with trustworthy installers, provides a contract, a warranty for the work and a Retrofit Coordinator to oversee the project

monitors energy performance to see how the project has affected your energy and provides annual inspection of any work completed

We believe that Furbnow can transform the retrofit and energy efficiency industry and improve the homes of millions in the UK. Our mission is to make every home warm, affordable to run and ready for a heat pump in the future. There is no competitor taking our approach and our vision is to be the go-to place for homeowners to start their journey to low carbon heating.

Job Description

About the role

Joining Furbnow as the Supplier Relationship Manager is an incredible opportunity to put your skills to practice to have a real impact on delivering the Net Zero agenda.

As Supplier Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring we recruit the best in the business to our supplier network to deliver a high standard of retrofit work consistently. You'll be working primarily in the Operations team to ensure we have the systems that enable us to scale while working day-to-day with our suppliers. You'll work directly with the co-founder and CEO, Becky Lane, and co-founder and CTO, Laurence Watson, to craft our processes, design new systems and implement them with the team.

What your new job will be:

Make us the best in class for retrofit professionals and installers to work with to find customers and new work opportunities

  • Design scalable systems that deliver a high standard of experience for our suppliers delivering retrofit assessments, Home Energy Plans, retrofit designs and installations
  • Ensure our supply capacity is in place and ready to go before we launch in every region
  • Coordinate with customer service operations and find ways to increase supplier retention
  • Track and monitor the performance of our systems and our performance and make changes in response to metrics
  • Work with the tech team to automate as much as possible and develop new tools to support our suppliers
  • Develop ways to support the professional development of our supply chain and look for ways Furbnow can be a value-add partner outside of our transactional relationship
  • Provide feedback to our Growth team to improve our supplier recruitment and capacity management strategy
  • Provide feedback to our Product team to improve the supplier experience
  • Build a supplier pipeline across the country, with a compelling offering
  • Ensure our suppliers are delivering high-quality outputs and projects
  • Make it easy for suppliers to do their best work that matches our expectations
  • Research and understand how we can use the right tools and technology and what we can offer to our partners
  • Build a community with our suppliers
  • Help Furbnow execute to a high standard across our activities
  • Be proactive and identify opportunities and problems coming up
  • Communicate and share learnings across the team

Qualifications

We are looking for a passionate operations professional based in London, Birmingham or remotely.

  • Knowledge and experience in the retrofit space will be a benefit but if you have experience of managing supply chain in a tech environment - we want to hear from you
  • Highly organised. It goes without saying but you will be able to manage complex projects at pace.
  • Great communicator. You'll interface with our team, our customers and our suppliers. You'll need to concisely take in and share information rapidly.
  • Passion Our goal is nothing less than to transform people's homes and accelerate home decarbonisation. Passion for moving beyond intention and climate goals into real action is a must
  • Light-speed learner. Every day the company is growing and evolving, and so will your role over time.
  • Be okay with making mistakes. We are all learning and mistakes are the byproduct of doing something new. Making them is part of the journey, but dwelling on them is not
  • Creative pragmatism. Ideas are great, but only if they can be executed

This is a rare opportunity to join an exciting new venture in a booming field with the potential for a significant impact on the UK's climate targets.
