This exciting internal communications role is perfect for a communications specialist looking for a unique opportunity at the heart of the Gambling Commission - you'll be working in a first-class communications team which is dedicated to supporting colleagues to feel engaged, informed and connected.

Your Role:


Someone who can support our internal communications team and is enthusiastic about putting employee experience front and centre in their work, recognising the importance of audience need and behaviour change approaches.

You'll be confident maintaining our internal communications channels, reviewing and assessing their impact and success in delivering our ambitions. You'll be collaborative, motivated and creative, working as part of a multi-disciplinary comms and engagement team. You'll be comfortable communicating with, and advising, senior leaders across the organisation.

Daily support in the delivery of the Commission's internal communications strategy.


Channel management and content creation to enhance the internal communications function - leading on the creation of engaging stories and news updates for internal channels such as the intranet, and other staff engagement opportunities.


Internal communications support for the Commission's diversity and inclusion programme - making sure we find appropriate ways and opportunities to celebrate our diversity and ensure an inclusive culture.

Supporting the delivery of the Commission's events calendar, including our annual staff conference, and our Commission-wide recognition awards.

General communications team support and administration as required during busy periods.

About You:
Excellent written and oral communications skills.

A confident communicator and storyteller who can work alongside a range of internal stakeholders.

An active listener who is passionate about championing colleague voice and encouraging two-way conversations.

A problem-solver with a can-do attitude and dynamic approach.

Proof of ability to work individually and collaboratively as part of a diverse, often remote team.

Experience with events planning and excellent organisational skills.

Evidence of producing creative and engaging, written and visual content for internal audiences.

Experience of proof reading and distribution of internal communications materials.


Sound knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams packages as well as experience or a willingness to learn how to use a Content Management System.


Desirable:
Experience of supporting senior stakeholders - with a knowledge of a regulatory environment or public sector organisation.

Experience of creating engaging content through programmes such as Adobe Design, Canva and/or InDesign.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
