Flooring Surveyor and Warehouse Processor

No previous experience is required as full training will be provided however any previous relevant experience would be beneficial.


This position will be based at the main warehouse in Hebburn, performing a range of duties including managing the stock within the warehouse, preparing daily orders for fitters to collect and supporting the order/fitting processes.

You will also be operating off site, attending pre-arranged flooring survey appointments at domestic residences across Newcastle upon Tyne, working with potential customers to deliver quotes, provide product advice and complete and process sales of flooring.


Additional responsibilities include:

  • Managing the warehouse and stock ensuring the safe receipt, storage and dispatch of flooring goods. (Carpet roll stock, pallets of laminate packs, vinyl cuts, etc) using appropriate moving and handling techniques and equipment.
  • Preparing the fitters work for the day and liaising with fitters to support the process.
  • Liaising frequently with the operations manager with regard to planned appointments, customer purchases and accounts and appointment feedback to ensure the smooth running of operations.
  • Planning daily appointment schedules using the automated response software.
  • Assessing customer affordability, vulnerability and ensuring all compliance information is provided.
  • Supporting customers to place an order, complete the purchase process and set up payment plans and direct debit arrangements.
  • Using/updating software systems such as Salesforce, Apptoto, Excel, Microsoft Office

Required skills:

  • Computer proficient (Microsoft ) and willingness to learn new software.
  • Planning & Organisation skills
  • Aptitude for mathematics and numeracy to support accurate surveys and quotes
  • Resilience, an ability to not take negative experiences personally and to remain professional and motivated with a positive attitude.

Essentials:

  • English/Maths GCSE A-C (or equivalent)
  • A full UK driving licence (a company vehicle will be provided for travel to/from customer appointments)
  • A clear DBS check (paid for by us)
  • To be comfortable travelling in a specific geographic area and working inside customers' homes/premises

Salary:
£25,000.00 per year
+ benefits including pension & healthcare

Annual Leave: 20 days paid holiday per year (plus bank holidays = 28 days)

Working hours: 40 hours/week: Monday to Friday working semi-flexibly with core hours 8.30am - 2.30pm.
