Join our team We are recruiting for an Operational Control Technician to join our Tactical Operations team on a permanent basis In this role you\'ll be a key support to the Tactical Operations shift teams, delivering a business-critical service to ensure that all operational call traffic and work requests are managed with appropriate priority.


What you\'ll be doing:

You will take all high priority calls from our field teams to raise defect jobs, using a variety of systems to interrogate data and ensure jobs are raised with the correct priority taking into account customer, environment, Health & Safety and compliance impacts.

You will liaise with multiple stakeholders within the wider business, for example, field operatives in order to ensure the correct information is gathered on our asset performance; scheduling teams and planners for jobs to be deployed within level of service (LOS).

A key part of this role is to work alongside the 24/7 shift teams within the wider department, recording relevant information and escalating high risk pollution and compliance events, responding to incoming calls from the Environment Agency as well as prioritising tasks during times of extreme workloads.

The role covers a working window of 07:00-21:00 Monday to Sunday worked on a 5 week shift pattern. You will actively support the Operational Control Managers (OCM) in the routine management of Level 1 operational events.

The role will ensure the provision of any required operational data and information to support the OCMs in effective decision making on both a day-to-day basis and during out of hours periods.

A key part of this role is to provide a \'welcoming interface\' between business and Tactical Operations at all times, and where required, take ownership in managing telephone traffic, raising defect work orders and tanker requests.

All general, low risk operational activities will be handled by the Operational Control Technician.
