Robert Gordon's College is seeking outstanding, enthusiastic and experienced Sports Coaches to join its dedicated team within the PE and Sports Department from August .

The Role

The successful candidates will be a highly committed team player with a love for one of our key sports disciplines – Hockey, Rugby, Netball & Football teaching across a wide range of ages.

The successful candidates will also be actively involved in developing and encouraging sporting talent in either hockey, rugby, netball and / or football throughout the school year. A full list of the key responsibilities for each sport can be found in our packs attached.

The roles are part-time, term time to start in August with weekday commitments to be agreed, plus helping coach a team and / or officiate games on Saturdays for rugby and hockey and midweek for football and netball throughout between August - March.

Additional coaching on weekday afternoons is also likely so a high degree of flexibility and availability is required. There may also be the opportunity for work between April - June in our summer term in sports such as athletics, cricket and tennis.

Sports coaches are a valued part of our experienced PE teaching department who offer specialist expertise in a number of activities. They should be able to share their experience and knowledge gained through competition and years of training to inspire and instil the confidence to succeed.

Sport is an integral part of everyday life at Robert Gordon's College. Gordon's pupils have the opportunity to participate and excel in a wide variety of sports and are supported in their sporting endeavours by a growing number of qualified specialist coaches and instructors. Sports pitches are situated within the College's enviable Sport and Games facilities located at our Countesswells site and form part of a purpose-built 40 acre playing field complex which includes a seater stand and fully equipped pavilion.

Salary and Benefits

Rate of pay will be subject to relevant qualifications and experience. Robert Gordon's College has a tiered pay structure for all sport coaches, and the number of hours available will be designated by the Director of Sport who oversees the Co-Curricular Sport programme.

The College provides excellent professional development opportunities and supports staff who want to pursue ongoing training or qualifications including: Coaching Qualifications, First Aid Qualification, SOCS CP, Coaching / Shadowing CPD opportunities, training in other sports
