We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Sports Development Coach to join our team at East Renfrewshire Council. As a key member of our community sports programme, you will be responsible for delivering participation and development opportunities for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver sports programmes that promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles among local communities.
  • Work closely with local schools, community groups, and sports clubs to identify and meet the needs of local children and young people.
  • Provide coaching and training to participants, focusing on skill development and sportsmanship.
  • Contribute to the development of our community sports programme, including identifying new opportunities and partnerships.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, promoting equality and diversity in all aspects of the programme.

Requirements

  • UK Coaching Certificate Level 1 / Scottish Coaching Certificate equivalent, or higher, in one of the following sports: Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Gymnastics (Pre School or Recreational), Hockey, Netball, Rugby, or Tennis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for sport and physical activity, with a commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and community engagement.
