GSL Education is an independent and ethical recruitment provider, supporting schools in the

Major Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise classes across the curriculum in the event of a teacher's absence.
  • Ensure that pupils are engaging in preplanned work.
  • Manage pupil behaviour to create a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Liaise with other staff members regarding work being set and ensure you have all suitable resources.
  • Provide feedback to the class teacher on pupil attendance, engagement and completion of work tasks.
  • Manage classroom behaviour of up to 30 pupils, ensuring students stay on task.
  • Respond to any questions or queries students may have.
  • Follow individual School behaviour and safeguarding policies.

To be a successful Cover Supervisor you should:

  • Have an Education-based or Core Subject-based Degree.
  • Aspire to have a career in Education, in roles such as a Pastoral Manager or Teacher.
  • Be able to quickly engage and build rapport with pupils.
  • Be an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who leads by example.
  • Have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies (full training can be provided).
  • Have the ability and willingness to undertake additional training and courses to enhance your professional development.
  • Empathize with young people and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have the ability to use your own initiative to work flexibly and be able to respond to different situations.
