Ocean Healthcare are looking for an experienced
Healthcare Assistant to support a young girl who is 6 years old. (10pm - 8am) in her home in
Brixham.

This lovely young girl lives with her mum, dad, and brother. She is a bright, clever little girl with a great sense of humor. She loves music and books, using her Ipad and attends school with support.


She has Spinal Muscular Atrophy and therefore the following we require someone who is confident in the following, but not essential.

Training is provided.

  • Deep suction
  • Physio
  • PEG Feeding
  • Cough Assist
  • Medication handling

Her care requires some advanced skills for which training will be provided by our exceptional nurse team who also provide close support.


We're looking for someone experienced in care whom we can train to handle the special and complex needs required for this girl during the night.

This is an opportunity to do something on a
1-2-1 basis to make a difference and really support her and her family.


10 hr Night shift 10pm-8am. (Wed/Fri/Sun/every other Sat)

Pay rates:

£11.25 p/hr Monday-Friday (nights):

-
£14.00 p/hr Saturday-Sunday (nights)
Lone working - This young girl will usually be asleep whilst you are on shift. We are looking for someone who is confident with people, is committed, and willing to learn. Will not accept smokers.


It's vital that we have staff consistency and so
you will be required to pick up a minimum of 2 shifts per week.

You will be able to pick up more shifts each week if you can and would like to. Mon-Fri and Weekend shifts are available.

Flexibility would be appreciated, but we are willing to consider your personal circumstances if there are days/times you are unable to work.


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
You need to be an experienced carer.

It is not essential that you have specific experience working with complex needs as you will get all the training you need.

You will be trained and supported by our outstanding team of specialists and nurses.

This will involve of training and shadowing until one of our nurses is happy to sign you off as competent.

Training is paid for.


You must be patient and caring and able to work on your own while providing care as part of a team.
