Job Title: Operations Manager - Artificial Intelligence Incubator Team

Welcome to the team of the Incubator for Artificial Intelligence (AI), a program dedicated to leveraging AI for public good and enhancing citizens' lives. We are a group of tech enthusiasts focused on rapidly building and testing innovative solutions that work.

As an Operations Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our team. Reporting to the Deputy Director, you'll oversee various operational aspects such as financial management, recruitment, and staff development. Your focus will be on supporting the technical team in delivering AI projects for public services, building partnerships with government departments and external organizations.

We are seeking a proactive and collaborative individual who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment. If you're someone who enjoys taking on diverse responsibilities, from managing operations to driving AI projects, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, collaborating with senior leadership to align operations with strategic goals.
  • Lead and support a small operations team, offering guidance as needed.
  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure financial stability and compliance.
  • Manage recruitment, staff development, and performance management processes.
  • Anticipate and address operational challenges to ensure team success.
  • Represent the team in senior meetings, building credibility and influence.
  • Champion high-quality and effective operations within the team.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Experience and Skills:

Experience in operations and management: Demonstrated expertise in finance, HR, and leadership.

Excellent communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively and deliver high-quality outputs.

Networking proficiency: Experience engaging with senior decision-makers and building professional relationships.

Project delivery: Proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable:

Experience in technology, digital, innovation, or AI: Familiarity with AI applications in public services or digital innovation.

Digital skills: Additional digital competencies are a plus.
