London, Greater London, United Kingdom Notting Hill Genesis Full time

Job Introduction:

Are you looking for a change? Can you face the challenges in London housing head-on and provide a fantastic service for our tenants in temporary housing?

We are looking for a dedicated and resilient individual who thrives on pressure and responsibility to join our temporary accommodation service on a 12 months contract.

The Temporary Housing business at Notting Hill Genesis (NHG), procures and manages temporary housing to meet the urgent housing needs of vulnerable Londoners.

You do not need direct housing experience but need to want to work with vulnerable customers and provide a high level of service.

Main Responsibility:

On a day to day basis you will proactively manage the customers on your patch, be their main point of contact and be comfortable dealing with a range of complex issues while providing a first-class housing management service.

We are a team motivated by the knowledge that we contribute directly to NHG's mission to provide good quality homes for those who could not otherwise afford them.

You will play a key part in improving the service we deliver to vulnerable tenants, working closely with your team and other specialist teams across the department.

Some of your regular tasks will include property inspections, raising repairs, and having responsibility for income collection. This will all be backed up by your excellent communication skills, which we help you build and improve upon. There is also a lot more and learning all aspects of the role is challenging. You need to be organised, thorough and resilient to thrive in this rewarding role.

Our Housing Officers have joined us from many different work experiences.

Regardless of where you currently work if you can bring an enthusiasm to learn and combine that with a strong customer focus then a Housing Officer role may well be for you.

You do not need any property management or housing experience to start your career as a Housing Officer. You should be an effective communicator and good with numbers. You should be organised, patient, resilient and have the ability to learn quickly.

Notting Hill Genesis is now one of the largest housing associations in London and the south east. We own and manage more than 66,000 homes and employ around 2,000 staff.

We provide homes across a range of tenures and are committed to continuing to deliver housing that is affordable to all.

Our roots reach back to the 1960s when our legacy organisations were established by local people who shared a similar vision - to house west London's working poor, providing them a home from which to build themselves and their families a secure future.

Our people
We value our people and both respect and celebrate their differences.

We're proud to say that our colleagues come from different backgrounds, with varied outlooks and are from all over the world.

We encourage and are committed to diversity.

We know that when people with varied experiences and unique points of view come together, it makes us a stronger organisation and more able to help the wide range of residents that we serve.

We want all our colleagues to bring their full selves to work in a culture and environment based on respect and fairness, regardless of role, background or ability.
