Our client has a permanent vacancy for a Business Development Manager, reporting to the Regional Sales Manager. You will be working for a global market leader in pneumatic and automation

technology, where innovation and customer satisfaction is at the forefront of what they do.

The Role:


The purpose of this role is to facilitate continued growth across the Industrial sector through the identification, mapping, and development focus upon industry sectors outside of the existing mature sectors such as automotive, FMCG, Food, Electronics etc.through the identification and conversion of sales opportunities.

These opportunities will need to be self-generated through research upon potential sectors and identification of key OEMs & End users coupled with the mapping of the manufacturing process andmachinery to identify the business opportunities.


These opportunities will be shared with the Sales teams and a 'Win Team' formed to maximise resulting opportunities & projects led by the Diversified industry sector lead who will support the sales team.

Ultimately the focus is on delivering high impactfocus upon both existing and emerging

manufacturing industry sectors for both the UK and the wider corporation.

The main duties of the role will be to:

  • Deliver revenue growth across a range of industry sectors.
  • Proactively drive and expand key customer / prospect relationships across leading sector accounts, in particular production OEM.
  • Need to equip salesforce to deliver & explore opportunities to increase sales rather than take personal ownership to deliver against all companies.
  • Identify opportunities within existing customer base and external market to create mutual value
  • Understand customer's technological and strategic roadmaps, needs and Company requirements
  • Develop and maintain strategic/key account plans
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to provide measurable sales returns.
  • Lead generation, pipeline management and reporting through the phases of opportunity identification, validation, qualification and closing via CRM system.
  • Promote sales and understanding of the target marketspecific products and its technologies amongst the general salesforce through salesby example, joint visits, sales meetings, and promotional literature.
  • Identify significant demands for special/new products based upon the target market and support salesforce in creation of new product development through RFS, NPDP or NPDA request process.
  • Actively promote new products to the salesforce and industry marketplace.

Requirements:

  • Consultative / solution selling experience within Business Development roles
  • Experience of building and closing sales pipelines
  • Proven ability to identify and translate complex customer aspirations into realised outcomes
  • Good written communication skills e.g., concise proposal writing
  • Experience of working with and updating Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • Adept at managing customers' expectations in line with agreed project deliverables
  • An agile mind with a passion for transformation
  • Financially literate and numerate
  • Ability to engage with internal stakeholders, particularly sales engineers, to gain and credibly communicate an understanding of technology and engineering opportunities
  • Driving licence
