Job Summary:
The Healthcare Assistant/Phlebotomist will assist the Practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care, work strictly in accordance with Practice protocols & guidelines.
The HCA will maintain accurate and up to date patient records Duties and Responsibilities include:ECG recording Blood Tests Urine tests Ear irrigation Blood Pressure Checks Diabetic foot checks Pre Diabetes consultations 24 hour BP Monitor Fit NHS Health Checks Basic Dressings Suture Removal Assist with minor surgery (ocassionally) Chaperoning duties Ordering medical supplies / dressing supplies /medications for drug cupboard Ordering Immunisations (Child/ Adult/ Travel) / stock rotation / maintaining cold chain Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions.
Notifying the GPs/Practice Nurse of any significant patient issues Administration of the following injections/vaccines B12 Pneumococcal Shingles Seasonal Flu injections and intranasal Ensure Infection Prevention Control measures are maintained at all times Confidentiality:In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters.
They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately In the performance of the duties outlined in this Job Description, the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, Practice staff and other healthcare workers.
