Responsibilities of the Support Worker Role:

  • Encouraging young individuals to engage in activities and take charge of their lives based on their age.
  • Maintaining a homely, welcoming atmosphere in the residence.
  • Handling challenging behaviors effectively when necessary.
  • Providing personal care as needed.
  • Offering support and promoting independence and well-being among individuals in the home.
  • Ensuring a safe environment for the service users.
  • Guaranteeing the safety of students and staying updated on their care plans, guidelines, reward system, and preferred communication methods.
  • Supporting challenging behaviors with care and empathy.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as an adult support Worker in a similar environment is advantageous.
  • NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Adult Social Care
  • A strong dedication to assisting individuals in leading fulfilling lives
  • Being a driver is essential as travel between sites may be required during shifts
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Due to the nature of personal care for service users, Gender is considered an essential requirement in line with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010
