Temporary Accommodation and Compliance Officer

Job Role
To be responsible for the effective and efficient inspection of Temporary Accommodation provided by the Council to those in need of housing.
To ensure compliance with safety requirements and monitor standards of repairs and maintenance noting changes in circumstance, nuisance, complaints, requests for transfer, and acting on safeguarding concerns.
Liaising with colleagues in the Adults Social Care, Private Sector License and ASB Enforcement team, Rehousing and Lettings teams, Managing Agents and Landlords, and relevant services.
Responsible for the inspection of accommodation units as required, ensuring that they meet with required standards and are free of hazards under the housing health and safety rating system liaising with environmental health officers as required.
Carry out tenancy residential checks on all temporary accommodation and investigate any reports of unauthorised occupants or other potential fraud identify a repossessed.
Properties which had been abandoned or sublet and prepare cases for court or attend court hearings were required this will include visiting residents' home outside normal working hours as required.
Identify any vulnerable households a specific cause of concern providing advice and support to residents and make an immediate and appropriate referral to the council's internal or external services especially where safeguarding is are a concern.
Maintain and monitor safety certificates, ensuring that they are all valid and up to date, and update records to reflect this.
Monitor the progress on repair issues and the aids with the landlord service provider repairs team to show repair items or attended to within the specified time frame.
This role involves visiting and inspecting emergency temporary accommodation, as such the officer will be travelling to various locations in London and requires you to have your own vehicle.
